My first Formula One race trip was a great experience despite the terrible weather leading up to it. The rain thankfully stopped just before the race began. Sitting on the muddy ground with our general admission tickets was not the most comfortable, but manageable with a small lawn chair and some makeshift layers for cushioning. We managed to secure a good view near the front of the crowd at the bottom of a small hill overlooking turn 3, thanks to the muddy ground. Giant TV screens displayed the rest of the race with commentary, making sure we didn't miss any action. After the race, we enjoyed walking the track to catch Elton John's concert. Getting out of the venue was a bit slow due to parking issues, but not unbearable. I grabbed a beer and a surprisingly delicious hot dog during the event. However, the $20 charge for ticket delivery felt like a rip-off and unnecessary greed. It would have been more convenient to print the tickets at home, just like the park'n'ride passes.
